November Meeting & Christmas Cracker Workshop

We can’t believe that the year is almost at an end and Christmas is already coming up. The shops are full of all sorts of commerically made, cheesy decorations and assorted delights .. but this year we are inviting you to put your own special touch on the table or under the Christmas tree. Join us for a bit of early merriment as we present this Christmas Cracker workshop.

We will supply the plain crackers and snaps, as …well as some little bits and pieces to include inside your cracker. However we encourage you to bring along something special you have chosen yourself to put inside. These make excellent gifts for small items, concert tickets and vouchers!

The event is to be held at CWA House in West Perth from 6:30pm (1174 Hay Street West Perth).

Feel free to bring drinks or nibbles to share.

This will be an informal social meeting, members, guests and friends are welcome.

Belles Pasta Making Workshop

 

Momma Mia!Want to learn how to make traditional homemade Italian pasta that would make your Nonna jealous? Join us for this unique opportunity to learn this impressive skill and get a little taste of the results.Cost of the activity is $5 members and $10 for non-members. This includes the ingrediants to make the pasta.

Stitched Success!

Congratulations to everyone who came down for our third annual Stitch ‘n’ Bitch! We had over 30 knitters in attendance giving their time to stitch squares for King Edward Memorial Hospital. A big thank you to our expert knitters who gave many of the unexperienced a welcomed helping hand. There were some top skills on display with the fastest women even managing to complete their squares in under two hours! Top job!

We’d also like to thank Spotlight for the generous donation of the wool.

Stitch & Bitch 2011

 

Ladies, It’s time once again to put those knitting needles to work!

CWA Perth Belles invites you to their annual Stitch n’ Bitch. This year we will be learning to make squares that we will join up to make cosy blankets to donate to King Edward Memorial Hospital.

The workshop will be held at the Windsor Pub in South Perth on Sunday 19th June from 1PM. The cost of the event is $5 for members and $10 for non-members. Yarn will be provided and expert knitters on hand to help us ‘cast on’ & ‘cast off”. We do ask you to BYO 6mm knitting needles.

Oh no! You may have heard the Facebook is archiving a lot of the groups in the ‘old format’. Now, I don’t know what the old format is, but apparently we are included in this. So we’ve gone a got ourselves a brand spanking new fan page, so you can ‘Like’ us even more!

May Meeting – Planning Workshop & Recipe Swap

 

Wow! The year isn’t even half-way done, and do we have some news for you! In August the CWA Perth Belles will be hosting it’s annual major fundraiser. But we need our members help to form a social committee to help with the planning and running of the event. If you would like to be involved or have ideas to put forward, then come along to the May meeting where the fundraiser will be our main topic of conversation.

As an added bonus we will be doing a recipe swap – so please bring along your favourite winter warmer recipe (e.g. hearty soup/grandmas roast/mulled wine/pudding, etc).  These will be scanned, collated and distributed at a later stage.

 The May meeting will be held on 26^th May 2011 in the cosy surrounds of 5 Bar (560 Beaufort Street, Mount Lawley) at 6pm. Please RSVP by the 23 May to cwaperthbelles@gmail.com

Check this out! Starting this month, the Perth Upmarket collective is starting a regular sewing club. The monthly fee is $25, but you can try it out for free this month! Free class is on 03/05/2011 from 7-9:30pm at Cnr Central Ave

Badge Making Workshop & Easter Fun

Welcome to our first fun filled activity for 2011!

Come along to our badge making workshop and whip up a funky felt name badge whilst enjoying some wine and chocolate to celebrate the spirit of Easter.

We will be meeting at CWA House at 6pm. Please bring along your favourite chocolate to share and some wine if you fancy a drink.

Cost of the activity will be:
$5 for members and $10 for non-members.
This includes all the materials for making a name badge and a raffle ticket for our Easter door prize.

Annual General Meeting 30 March 2011

Hi Belles!!

Very sorry it has been so long between posts, but I actually forgot the password! I found it hidden beneath some cooking cutters and my cross-stictch, so we are back on track.

As it is now well into the New Year it is time to hold our Annual General Meeting! It’s an important meeting – and one in which we will be planning 2011 and electing the following positions:
President
Vice President
Secretary
Treasurer
If you can’t make it for some reason let me know and we’ll see if we can find a work-around. We will post the meeting agenda and more info on the roles up for grabs next week.

This meeting will be mostly for official business, but it’s still good fun and a great time to get out any ideas you want to put forward. Feel free to bring along some wine or nibbles to share.

Thanks to everyone who came down to The Garden a few weeks ago was fantastic to have so much support. Looking forward to more fun and games in 2011.
